This is where you can learn how to submit photos or words to Offbeat Mama. If you just want to say hello, click here! If you're a business owner looking for placement, click here!
Offbeat Mama is about sharing the voice of nontraditional mothers (and fathers!) of all sorts, and so we're always looking for words & photos from folks from a wide range of backgrounds, lifestyles, and experiences. We believe offbeat takes many forms — this means biological, adoptive, and step parents. This means straight, gay, and bi parents AND kids. This means nuclear and extended families. This means babies, kids, teens, and grown-ups.
A few things to keep in mind:
- We're looking for positive stories celebrating how you integrate your offbeat interests with your family life
- Make sure you're familiar with our values before submitting — we're not into being ranty, dogmatic, reactionary, or judgmental
- Blog posts should be 500-1000 words
- You don't need to be a professional writer, but your post should have a specific focus, and please be conscientious about capitalization, proofreading, using spell check, etc.
- Posts may be edited for length and tone
- If you're a photographer who would like to submit photos, the easiest thing to do is just put them in our gallery
- Unfortunately, we can't publish all submissions we receive — you'll hear from us if we're going to publish your guest post!
- It's fine to submit something that you wrote for your own personal website — we'll be sure to link to your original post!
