I'm quickly learning that schlepping is a key ingredient of motherhood. I schlep the baby around the house, schlep a burp rag with me from room to room, schlep him into a sling when we go out, and schlep his diaper bag along as well. So I'm all for a 2-in-1 item that reduces my schlep.

Enter Kemby's Sidekick bag. This thing is a stroke of genius, and in fact the design has totally been patented. See, it's not only an insanely styley diaper bag … it also converts into a side sling. No need to schlep both a sling and a bag when you head out, because the bag BECOMES the sling. It's like a Transformers, only less Michael Bay explosions and Shia Labeouf saying "No no no no."

I got my hands on a Kemby Sidekick to review — and I've got an extra to give away to a reader! This thing is seriously FANTHEE, and when I say FANTHEE, I mean fancy but with a lisp that makes it even more so.

adorn those chubby thighs!

adorn those chubby thighs!

I actually own 2 pairs of these from knottybabywear and all though my baby isn't crawling yet, I can attest to them being well made and adorable. They are leg warmers, but they are for more than just lookin' cute. When your baby starts scooting around the house, they are great for keeping those soft little chubby knees clean and protected, as well as warm and cozy. When your kid wears a skirt, kilt, or dress, you need not add complicated tights to the diaper changing adventure — these give instant onesie access.

What I like best is that knottybaby's leg warmers are unique — you won't find these prints at major baby retail chains, or see them on every kid at Mommy-and-Me Yoga classes. There is something for everyone: holiday themes, skulls and plaid-with-skulls, polka dots, heck I even got a pair with flying bunnies holding crescent wrenches!

Best of all, free shipping, and quantity discounts! Made of WIN!

Brooke Van Gory recently wrote a glowing review of Eco-Ayris' line of "green" teethers:

I really think the best part of this teether, and it's design, is the fact that as I just sat down to write this review, Greg yelled in to me from the other room. He said, and I quote, "The design of this teether is one of the best ideas ever. The way the eyes are placed are perfect for him to grab, and have a good grip, and the horns give him a really awesome teething surface. This shop really has a genius design here!" Now….Greg never says anything about my purchases, so this means a lot. Truth be told, there is not a day that goes by that "our skull friend" as we now call him, is not used.

Head on over to The World of Brooke Van Gory to read the full review.

baby_catcherThis book? Is awesome. I couldn't put it down, in fact.

It's the memoir of a woman who worked as a midwife her entire life and chronicles her experiences from nursing school to the end of her career.

She writes about how childbirth was approached when she was in nursing school during the early 1960s, how she found her passion for helping laboring women, and how that passion carried her through a long and fruitful midwifery practice.

This book encouraged me to a profound degree.
