One of my favorite features on OBM is the "pimp my kids room" posts — I'm a big into interior design and kids rooms are some of the coolest decorating spaces.

That's why, when I saw these cool chalkboard wall stickers, I immediately thought they'd be a a fun addition to a child's room.

Apply these over-sized wall stickers to any clean, dry surface; then write on 'em with ordinary chalk. And then a damp cloth wipes it all away for another day.

A+R has a bunch of cool designs in various animal shapes…

And I got curious, so I took my search elsewheres and found a lot of other great chalkboard wall decals to fit all different types of kids…

The coolest fucking "rocking Vespa" EVAR!!!!

Found this bad boy over at Greenwala. Apparently a proud grandpa upcycled his old Vespa into this amazing gift for his grandson, Diego. (Love that name, it's my first child's name… and by "first child," I mean my cat. A cat who's "grandpa" will never make him anything this cool.)

For more photos and info check out the original post here: Snappy Vespa Scooter Recycled Into Child's Rocking Horse.

barnmobel_frilagda1I'm not really quite sure what this is, but it's called "Screw" and it's for kids, so that's pretty cool.

Personally, I think it looks like something a kid could really get hurt playing with, but it appears that these crazy looking toys are in fact, children's furniture… and also toys.

They were created by Maria Vang, an architect and designer, with the goal of helping children with their motor and logical skills, as well as teach them about math. I like 'em because I like cool looking furniture and bright colors.

Plus it enables me to say this… Now you too can help your kid Screw their way to getting better grades in math!

c682_plane_bib_combo_animI love Think Geek because it's a one stop shopping expo for my nerdy husband. But who knew they had ridiculously cool baby stuff?

Okay, yeah, maybe most of that stuff is actually for kids… but I still maintain that a child couldn't possibly get as much enjoyment out of the Tauntaun sleeping bag as I can. (Come on, I waited longer for one than they did.)

Anyway, this Illuminated JetBib from ThinkGeek Labs will "revolutionize the lives of pilots trying to make that ever-elusive landing." Also, the spoon looks like a FREAKING AIRPLANE and the bib has flashing lights. Baby's love flashing lights, right?

Seriously? Why didn't they have this kind of thing when I was a kid!? I mean, we still did "here comes the airplane" but it was sooooooo unrealistic! I can't believe I totally fell for that!

Hello there Offbeat Mamas! It's Megan from Offbeat Bride popping in to our sister site while Ariel is getting to know her son outside of her body. And what better way to celebrate a glorious thing like that than with some rad baby announcements!? Ah'like this ones perhaps?…
baby announcement
I have to thank my preggo friend Alex from Mom(me?) for bringing this business to my attention. The announcements, styled after gig posters for rock concerts, are created by the husband and wife team that make up Rattle-n-Roll (great name right?). You send them a photo of your newest family addition, they create a custom drawing from said photo and then insert it into one of their many rockin' templates. Or they can do completely custom work as well for stuff like birthday parties, Christmas cards, and general awesomeness.

They kinda' (okay, totally) made me wanna make an addition to my family just to have one designed for me! But for those of you that are expecting or have already given birth, you can live the dream man! Live the dream!
