Just your average baby shower

One of my favorite parts of Offbeat Mama is the Offbeat Mama Flickr Pool! As a photographer and a mother, I love oogling photos of babies and families, and see no reason why the pool can't be a weekly feature on the OBM site–especially when there are such cute shots like the latest uploads from Whitney of Whitney Lee Photography in Austin, Texas.

Whitney shot Lisa's baby shower in March, and Lisa's daughter was actually due Friday, April 23!  Hopefully, you'll dig these as much as I do–there's something about a trippy multi-colored wall, especially one with people dressed in enchantingly eclectic costumes and masks posing in front of it, that I just can't resist, and nothing makes me happier than someone turning the traditional baby shower snapshots upside-down, inside-out, and basically into the opposite of what you would expect to see.

Big fun smiles? Check. Upside down dolls? Check. Best photo booth idea ever? Triple check!
