Offbeat maternity leave

So, Andreas and I are likely having a baby this afternoon…

While this is a big huge deal for Andreas and Sassafras and me, it hopefully won't have toooo much impact on Offbeat Mama. I've been working to build a pipeline of content so that y'all will have a post a day to read while I'm out trying to figure out how to, oh you know, sustain a small human being. I'll be out of commission for a few weeks, and then will hopefully re-emerge as the baby allows in December. Thank god for my merry band of offbeat elves who are helping me behind the scenes — Megan, Shrie, Samantha, Rosalie, I'm talking to you, ladies!

I've been clear since the start that Offbeat Mama is NOT my personal mommy blog, so although I'll continue to share various parenting perspectives, even post-baby this site just isn't going to be about me and my kid. Furthermore, due to privacy concerns, I won't be posting a ton of baby news or photos publicly. Obviously, I've made my choices about sharing my life via my writing and photography — but I want to allow my son to make his own decisions some day about how he wants to share his life.
